Description of this Vintage Pulp Fiction Poster

Tarantino wrote Pulp Fiction in 1992 and 1993, incorporating scenes that Avary had originally written for True Romance (1993) [citation needed]. The plot does not unfold in chronological order. The film is also self-referential from its opening moments, beginning with a title card that gives two dictionary definitions for the word “pulp.” Considerable screen time is devoted to monologues and rambling conversations, with eclectic dialogue revealing each character’s perspective on several topics, and the film features a wry combination of humor and intense violence. TriStar Pictures reportedly turned down the script, deeming it “too insane.” Miramax co-chairman Harvey Weinstein, however, was enthusiastic, and the film became the first fully financed by Miramax.
