Description of this Banania Advertising Poster
Signed Giacomo De Andréis in 1915, this sublime decorative vintage poster is an advertising visual for the Banania breakfast. The story goes that a Senegalese infantryman, wounded during the Great War, had to provide labor in the pharmacy of the partner of the creator of Banania: Pierre-François Lardet. Faced with the infantryman’s courage and positivism, Lardet was inspired to use it as the image of his future product. The rest is history: a huge success, followed by an erroneous accusation of “racism” from agitators who did not even have any historical knowledge. This sublime poster will make an excellent decorative object for your interior thanks to its retro style.
