Description of this Fantomas vs. Scotland Yard Poster
Fantomas vs. Scotland Yard is the final installment in a trilogy of films starring Jean Marais as the villainous Fantomas nom opposite Louis de Funès as the serious but overachieving Commissioner Juve and the journalist Fandor, also played by Marais. The trilogy was France’s humorous answer, starting in 1964, to the James Bond phenomenon that swept the world around the same time. The Fantômas films were a huge success in Europe and the USSR, and even in the United States and Japan, where fan sites still exist today.
