Description of this Poster Les Bidasses En Folie
“Les Bidasses En Folie” is a cult comedy directed by Claude Zidi in 1971. The story begins with four carefree and eccentric young people, played by Gérard Rinaldi, Jean Sarrus, Gérard Filipelli, and Patrick Green. These soldiers, in search of adventure, join the army with a generous dose of incompetence and clumsiness.
The film follows the wacky adventures of this unexpected quartet during their military service. Between hilarious blunders and incredible situations, the soldiers awkwardly navigate the strict discipline of the army. The comical interactions between the characters, each with their own eccentric personality, create a tangle of comic situations.
Claude Zidi skillfully uses the language of slapstick to highlight the absurdity of military life, while injecting a dose of satirical humor. The drill scenes, the misunderstandings, and the soldiers’ clumsy attempts to adapt to military rigor guarantee moments of genuine laughter.
Beyond humor, the film also explores themes of camaraderie and friendship, showing how these young men, who are complete opposites, end up forming a strong bond during their time in the army. The actors’ comedic performances and Zidi’s dynamic direction make “Les Bidasses En Folie” a timeless comedy that continues to captivate viewers with its offbeat charm and lightness.
In short, this iconic film offers an unforgettable dive into the absurd and hilarious world of soldiers, with endearing characters, memorable gags, and a subtle satire of military life.
